However, my experience with the book reached the realms of traumatic and awful repulsion. The author uses misspellings and grammatical errors to indicate his Southern accent, education, and cognitive disabilities. When that happens, I feel that a novel and movie can stand side by side and not detract from each other’s artistic contribution.
