Kayam on my Canonet there is a plastic cap over a hole on the back, just below the flash shoe. A small window near the top of the camera back provides a visual indication that film transport is occurring when the film advance lever is operated. When trying to flash sync, you can’t take advantage of the Copal shutter’s ability to sync at any speed.
My Canonet 28 has never needed a rangefinder adjustment. Program shutter exposure only. You can use an alkaline PXa or equivalent, but you’ll need to compensate for the meter slightly since the alkalines are higher voltage 1.
Anyway, I decided to buy it because it came with a working battery as well as a dedicated flash Canolite D for Canonet cameras. The viewfinder is direct vision optical type which shows the image at 0. A distance scale is engraved on the lens mount but no Depth of Field scale is provided.
